Aquilano.Rimoni Spring 2010...Royal Embellishments

Full on royal glamour was the main theme of the Spring 2010 collection at Aquilano Rimoni's show. The clothes were full of rich reds, greens, golds, purples, and dark blues. The skinny belt was repeatedly shown on long tunics, military jackets, and cocktail dresses. I loved the use of metallic on the military jackets and dresses. He also used great deal of silk in his ruffly cocktail dresses and skirts. Some pieces more extravagant that others, the collection as a whole reminded me of Roman inspired royalty. Perhaps this collection is a more modern take on the extravagant ball gowns worn during the Elizabethan time periods.
