Roksanda Ilinicic Fall 2010

Although I really have no previous knowledge of the designer, Rokasanda Ilinicic, I enjoyed a few key looks in her fall collection. Most notably, the hemlines below the knee were ultra appealing to me. For young women like me who aren't necessarily blessed with long lanky legs, I really like to find ways to elongate my short frame. So in comes the mid-calf length skirt...which has been around for a while and reinterpreted...yet I still think it is a great piece to have for work or that special occasion.

I also really liked the coloring in the pieces I chose...Mixing predominatly dark navies and blacks with cream colors. I like the idea of incorporating a little but spring-like color with my fall and winter wardrobe. Seriously, who says you can't play with a pretty soft beige or pale pink as we make the transition from summer to fall? All I say is please do store those white jeans after labor day:)

Roberto Cavalli Fall 2010

It is hard to explain what certainly sets Roberto Cavalli apart from most other designers. "Italian" is what comes to mind when I say the name. Perhaps what I loved about the designer for the past couple seasons is his ability to use sheer layering to another level. The sheer pants were beautiful and transitional to what will continue to be popular for the next couple seasons. The sheer is so sexy.

The jackets were amazing too. The golden detail portrayed a Reniassance feel. As style.com mentioned, the collection had glamorous boho inspirations. I kind of think, rather, that the collection was just a darker boho/gypsy look.

The dresses were really noticeable and unlike most collections I have seen for fall. Why not wear a long gypsy inspired cream dress with a scarf and some boots?

The prints were something to notice as well. The blue, brown, and grey printed pieces are great and sometimes overlooked for winter clothes. This just goes to show how toned down animal prints can make the transition from summer into fall and winter.

Reem Acra Fall 2010

Okay, so I have been a tad lazy on writing commentary on my posts. Sometimes I feel pictures speak for themselves, but in attempts to act like a journalist - I will begin to write about the collections I like! A romantic at heart, I find myself really drawn to the collections that seem to have been inspired by the times when traditional courtship was routine. I really like this collection by Reem Acra mostly because I love the royal deep colors.

Rebecca Taylor Fall 2010

The contemporary collections are becoming more noticeable these days, as the designers look to gain more international exposure. I have also come to really enjoy the contemporary collections because they are more wearable and appealing to me. I think some of the high end designers go to great lengths to portray an artistic sense rather then a more practical one. I love fashion but sometimes it is hard for me to comprehend the extravagant runway shows. I think the contemporary designers shouldn't be overlooked.

So this brings me to Rebecca Taylor. I remember being drawn to the designer in high school. The brand consistently delivers its message season after season. When I think of Rebecca Taylor, I see ruffly blouses and dress in simple and flattering colors. Very youthful and complimentary to the cute clientele. When I shop, I am one to pick out unique pieces that are sure to stand out. I hardly ever buy into boring and plain clothes. So when I spend a decent amount of money on clothes, I look for distinctive and something I don't already own. Rebecca Taylow certainly delivers:

RALPH LAUREN FALL 2010

Ralph Lauren is one of my absolute favorite designers because of what he consistently delivers season after season. He managed to withstand his classic and timeless upper class elegance with even his bohemian inspired looks. Thoroughly enjoyed every single look in this show. I especially adored the floral prints intended for the winter wardrobe - of course paired with his signature tailored jackets, vests, and pants. Again, I see and love the black sheer layering detail. Velvet pieces are also something to be aware of when you are shopping for your fall wardrobe. The brown leather ankle boots were so fab too! I want a pair! They go great with dresses and pants!
