When I think of Thakoon, the one word that comes to mind is "romantic." I have always loved Thakoon for creating these beautiful and flirty inspired clothes full of ruffles and drapes... Style.com describes the Fall 2010 collection as "feral." Well, first of all I didn't even know what that word meant. So in case neither do you, it is an organism that has returned from domestication and has returned to a wild state. From a literal point of view, there was certainly a great deal of furs: mink, raccoon, fox...But in the grander scheme of things, it is like the "wildness" hidden behind the pretty and innocent Thakoon girl is coming out into a mysterious and beautiful sought after woman.
One review mentioned it taking on a "Beauty and the Beast" theme...So the fairy tale is still there (but more mysterious and dark). The choice of colors were really sophisticated greys, ivories, and browns. For me, the creativity came from the shoes and fur/ruffle details on the dresses and coats..each well thought out with hints of fur and royal grace. I absolutely loved the show! It showed even more of what he is capable of...
