Erdem's collection for spring this year was straight up pop-up prints and intricate lace. The clothes themselves, mostly dresses, have floral details that are hand sewn. I think that a lot of inspiration can be taken from this collection...such as added embroidery on blouses or jackets or even shorts...Let's face it - we don't wear cocktail dresses everyday. It is simply not wearable - yet still very pretty (obviously...If we only had two ravishing parties to go to each week.HA!)
Yet I can see the sort of "pop-up" designs becoming more in your face for the next few seasons. Instead of a printed fabric or a flat design - more detail sewn on top of of a flat fabric is beautiful and an added alternative to all of the ruffles we have been seeing.
