A little bit of everything at Giambattista Valli Spring 2010

What I immediately thought when I looked through Giamattista's (man that is a hard name to spell) collection, I thought at first that - "Wow there is a lot going on here." It definitely has a youthful vib, the lengths of the dresses were making moves upwards. It really had a lot to offer for a wide variety of consumers while still maintaining the brand's consistent message.

The show began with predominately black and white pieces (classic colors all year round) which took on a classic/sophisticated/minimal aesthetic. I am really liking the full piece suit-dress btw (we see this in Phillip Lim's collection in sequins!). Then we see the clothes becoming more colorful with pretty jade greens and turquoises. His signature "fringe" was ever present in the skirts and dresses. Animal and tribal prints appeared during the second half of the show. Finally the show ended with an array of romantic dresses full of ruffles and extravagant wow factors.

Overall, I did enjoy the collection and I can see why the brand attracts its celeb clientele like Marykate Olsen...Really LOVED THE SHOES TOO! I do question whether or not some of the clothes will flatter a wide variety of women's bodies... Anywho here are some great pieces:
